Moving to Liechtenstein
Switzerland and Liechtenstein share a customs territory. This move therefore does not follow the import procedure for an EU country. We check requirements based on the goods and route. Residence permits remain a separate personal matter.

Understand the shared customs territory
Liechtenstein forms part of the Swiss customs territory. A movement between Switzerland and Liechtenstein is therefore not treated like an import from Switzerland into Germany. Particular goods, their customs status or a route through another customs territory may still need assessment. Residence and immigration permission are separate matters.
Keep residence formalities separate from transport
Clarify your right to reside with the responsible Liechtenstein authority. Prepare identity documents, your new address and the agreed tenancy and occupation dates. An inventory remains useful for transport and handover. A household transport agreement does not constitute approval of an immigration or residence application.
Plan placement and additional work
State which furniture needs assembly and whether any items go to another address. Photos of access and stairs help with assessment. Name a contact with keys who can receive the inventory. Cleaning or clearance of the former Swiss home can be requested as separate work.
What to include in your enquiry
- Both addresses and occupation dates
- Inventory and assembly requirements
- Residence and immigration questions clarified separately
Official guidance and forms
The responsible authority assesses your case. Check the current documents and procedure before transport.

Does every load need an EU relocation form?

Does the move include a residence permit?
No. Liechtenstein’s authorities decide residence matters independently of the transport service.
